Zepto is honored to announce that it has been awarded first place in the Professional Division of the Walleye Tank Pitch Contest, securing the top prize of $8,000. This recognition reflects the clinical significance behind Zepto’s diagnostic platform for the rapid detection of invasive fungal infections.

The Walleye Tank competition, hosted by the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota, brought together thirteen promising healthcare innovators focused on addressing critical unmet needs. Zepto’s winning pitch showcased its Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR)-based diagnostic system, which enables clinicians to detect fungal pathogens directly from plasma with high sensitivity and speed — bypassing traditional, time-consuming culture methods.

This award recognizes Zepto’s mission to improve patient outcomes through advanced molecular technologies. We are proud to contribute to Minnesota’s dynamic healthcare innovation ecosystem and are grateful to the Walleye Tank community for their support.
